Materials Facilities at the Lowell Campus for this Program
Materials Synthesis Equipment
Organic Synthesis Laboratory: Essential glassware, high vacuum systems, high pressure reactor, gas purification lines and other equipment necessary are in hand to perform a variety of organic polymer synthetic transformations.
Biological Synthesis Laboratory: The BPRC has equipment to carry out the culturing of bacterial cells to produce natural polymers such as polysaccharides, polyesters and proteins. Equipment is also in place as part of the Bioprocessing Center at UML for the large-scale production and purification of bacterial fermentation products.
